Founder Angel Li started the business in 2006 under the name Little Linguists to provide children with world language classes. The Arts Education Partnership performed a meta-analysis of 62 studies that demonstrated students exposed to drama, music, and arts show higher levels of proficiency in reading, writing, and math. A University of Chicago study found that bilingual students have greater empathy and a study from the University of Michigan found bilingual students achieved higher academic scores in both math and language arts. While these studies are compelling, feedback from principals, teachers, students, and parents was key in helping Li expand and solidify RISE Education as a preferred vendor for Chicago Public Schools.
