ZetrOZ Systems’ sam Technology Can Help College Athletes Recover From Injury

Sustained acoustic medicine provides proven soft tissue healing via ZetrOZ's patented wearable ultrasound unit.

Saturday afternoons in autumn mean college sports and the return of amateur athletes to their fields, gyms and stadiums. Student-athletes can stay healthier, heal more easily from soft-tissue injuries, and return to their sport more quickly with ZetrOZ Systems' sustained acoustic medicine (sam®) technology, now covered by secondary insurance for many colleges.

On average, more than 200,000 athletes in major National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sports are injured every year, according to a five-year study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2015.

Researchers found high injury rates across many of the sports kicking off this fall. Among all sports, college football had the highest raw number of injuries - an estimated 47,199 over the five years. It also had one of the highest injury rates of all sports, with 9.2 athletes injured for every 1,000 athlete-exposures to potential injury (one athlete's participation in one competition or one practice).

Women's soccer had the next-highest injury rate among fall sports, with 8.4 injuries per 1,000 athlete-exposure. Among all sports, men's wrestling had the highest injury rate, at 13.1 injuries per 1,000 athlete-exposures. Women's gymnastics, at 10.4 injuries per 1,000 athlete exposures, had the greatest injury rate among women's sports.

Almost one out of four athlete injuries required more than seven days of recuperation before the athlete could return to practice or competition. Nearly half (45%) of all injuries were sprains and strains, and of those injuries, about one in four required a week of recuperation.

ZetrOZ Systems' sustained acoustic medicine (sam®) technology is proven to reduce the recovery period for those kinds of soft-tissue injuries. More than 40 clinical studies have shown that the ZetrOZ sam® X1 and 2.0 devices reduce pain and improve function without using invasive surgery or potentially addictive painkillers.

"We work with college athletic trainers nationwide, and we know that our sam® devices help heal athletes' soft-tissue injuries more quickly and help players return to practices and games sooner," said Dr. George K. Lewis, founder and CEO of ZetrOZ Systems.

A 2022 study, by authors that included three respected college athletic trainers, examined sam® usage by 239 healthcare providers for treating injuries to tendons and ligaments, joints, large muscle groups, and bone. They reported that sam® provided clinical improvement in under two weeks in more than two-thirds of cases (68.9%) and resulted in a 50% reduction in pain medication. The study concluded sam® is an "effective, safe, easy-to-use, noninvasive, comfortable, and versatile therapeutic for healing musculoskeletal injuries."

In addition, a 2022 article published in Open Orthopedics Journal surveyed athletic trainers working in professional, collegiate, and military sports medicine to evaluate ZetrOZ's sam® technology. The study found that sam® is a "fast, simple topical application yielding rapid healing without causing additional trauma to suffering athletes." The study also included follow-up interviews with the athletic trainers. The researchers reported that "Candid input from professional athletic and military ATs shows a consensus that sam® is a superior healing technology."

A 2015 level 4 clinical study by sports medicine experts at Ohio State University and Duke University found sustained acoustic medicine delivered via ZetrOZ's sam® reduced pain and improved strength in patients' medial/lateral elbow tendons and Achilles tendons.

Sustained acoustic medicine works by increasing blood vessel diameters to improve blood flow. That increases oxygenated hemoglobin at the therapy site and removes cytokine enzymes and cellular waste, resulting in more rapid healing and reduced pain.

ZetrOZ's sam® devices are the only FDA-cleared wearable ultrasound units approved for daily use at home. ZetrOZ's technology was developed, in part, with funding from the National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, and NASA. ZetrOZ Systems products are designed and manufactured in the United States and are protected by 46 U.S. patents.

The Motor Enclave ‘Motomural’ Set to Become Iconic Tampa Landmark

Designed and painted by acclaimed Philadelphia mural artist, Glossblack

The Motor Enclave ‘Motomural’ Set to Become Iconic Tampa Landmark
The Motor Enclave 'Motomural'

The Motor Enclave 'Motomural' as seen from the East side of I-75.

The Motor Enclave (TME) unveiled Tampa Bay's newest mural today, on the I-75 side of its 37,000 square foot Event Center just North of the I-4 interchange. The mural was designed and executed by prominent Philadelphia-based muralist Glossblack. Branded as the "Motomural," the nearly 5,000 square foot mural is destined to become a landmark at this main interchange to Tampa and Orlando that sees over 142,000 vehicles a day.

The Motor Enclave founder, Brad Oleshansky, collaborated with Glossblack closely on the project, keeping it under wraps until painting began on September 1st. The mural features a combination of motorsports-themed iconography, vintage roadside references and a few related to Tampa history and culture.

"The goal of this mural is to pay homage to many things at once; The Motor Enclave branding, classic Americana, motorsports, patina & graffiti elements, and of course a nod to Tampa. It's a 'favorite things' mural for TME that speaks to how unique they are," said Jimmy McMenamin of Glossblack. "Much of my artwork revolves around balancing color while creating building blocks that tell a larger story. I love all things typography, vintage signage, neon lettering, dynamic shadow/lighting, and retro Americana. For that reason, working with TME was the perfect fit."

"I am thrilled to have this piece of the project come to fruition. It's been a fun process working with Glossblack to make this project come to life," said Oleshansky. "It's been just as fun keeping the artwork a surprise for my team here at TME. But the wait is finally over and what better way to show off our soon-to-open Event Center."

The Motomural is now visible for all to see on the West side of I-75 just North of the I-4 interchange.

LPGA's Kroger Queen City Championship ended in a two-hole playoff, where Minjee Lee claimed her first victory of the season.

Earning her first victory of the season in a thrilling playoff, Minjee Lee was able to close out the Kroger Queen City Championship in Cincinnati for her ninth LPGA Tour title playing a full bag of Srixon/Cleveland golf clubs and Z-STAR golf ball.

Holding the 54-hole lead by two strokes after a scorching 7-under 65 in round three, Lee carded a final round 1-under par 71 to force her way into a playoff. After two pars on the first playoff hole, the competitors headed to the 18th for a second time where Lee capitalized on her approach shot, hitting it to three feet and securing the birdie. After the round, she spoke about her resilience in key moments and the ability to close tournaments.

"I just have a lot of grit coming down the stretch, I never give up, and I like to think I'm always putting pressure on my opponents and not giving it up too easily," said Lee. "I have great fight in me and a lot of resilience."

Lee had a strong day from tee to green, hitting 12 of 14 fairways with the Srixon ZX7 Driver and 14 greens in regulation with Srixon ZX7 Mk II Irons. She ranks third on the LPGA Tour this season hitting close to 74% of greens in regulation, continuing her precise iron play that carried her to two wins the previous season including the U.S. Open. Filmmakers Launch ‘The Cure for Hate’ Educational and Social Impact Campaign to Combat Rising National Hate Crimes Crisis

Filmmakers Launch ‘The Cure for Hate’ Educational and Social Impact Campaign to Combat Rising National Hate Crimes Crisis
Tony McAleer

Tony McAleer in 'The Cure for Hate: Bearing Witness to Auschwitz,' directed by Peter Hutchison

Author and anti-hate activist Tony McAleer and filmmaker Peter Hutchison of Eat the Moon Films are proud to announce the launch of THE CURE FOR HATE, a nationwide educational and social impact campaign designed to combat the rising national hate crimes crisis this fall.

"Several years in the making — from the U.S. to Poland to Canada — we’re thrilled to begin sharing 'The Cure for Hate' and our social impact program with high schools and communities across America," said Hutchison. "Stories like these are a powerful tool, and can play a crucial role in helping to turn the tide of racism and intolerance."

The program will debut in Pittsburgh on Sept. 27 with Dismantling Conspiracy Theories and Holocaust Denial: a film screening and panel discussion hosted by the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh. The Cure for Hate team, former neo-Nazi turned anti-hate activist Tony McAleer and filmmaker Peter Hutchison (the upcoming "The Invisible Doctrine. The Secret History of Neoliberalism," “Healing from Hate,” “Requiem for the American Dream”) will also visit area secondary schools to engage with students, screen the film, and deliver the curriculum. THE CURE FOR HATE: BEARING WITNESS TO AUSCHWITZ will screen at the Eradicate Hate Global Summit. The program will also host a Teen Screen event with Film Pittsburgh in late September.

The engagements in Pittsburgh mark the first stop in an extensive screening tour targeting secondary schools and select communities across the country with stops in Oregon with Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, Idaho with the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, Houston with TAPS Academy as part of its Anti-Hate Week, Tennessee with TN Holocaust Commission, and more to be announced shortly.

"I am really excited to share my journey and the history of the Holocaust with young people in a way that teaches important lessons to ensure it never happens again," said McAleer.

In the Jewish tradition, tshuvah means "return" and describes the return to God and our fellow human beings that is made possible through repentance for our wrongs.

THE CURE FOR HATE: BEARING WITNESS TO AUSCHWITZ follows Tony McAleer, a former Neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier, who went on to become a founding member of the anti-hate activist group Life After Hate. Profoundly aware and deeply ashamed of the lineage of hate he'd once promoted, McAleer had long-contemplated traveling to Auschwitz in the spirit of tshuvah — to bear witness to the inconceivable ravages of the Holocaust and deepen his personal work against the rise of extremist politics.

This project documents his profoundly personal journey of atonement to Auschwitz/Birkenau — exploring the conditions that allowed for the rise of fascism in 1930s Europe; shedding a unique light upon how men get into, and out of, violent extremist groups; and serving as a cautionary tale for our time that underscores the dangers in allowing hate to be left unchecked.

"The Cure for Hate brings the lessons of Auschwitz into the present, as living history — at this crucial moment, with hate and intolerance on the rise and continuing to dominate the headlines," said Hutchison. "Tony’s journey stands as a remarkable example of what is possible. After all, if a hardened neo-Nazi can find his way back from hate, then what lessons can it hold for the rest of us?"

Thanks to a grant from The Center for Prevention Programs & Partnerships “Targeted Violence & Terrorism Prevention Program,” THE CURE FOR HATE: BEARING WITNESS TO AUSCHWITZ aims to use the film and the lived experiences of author and subject Tony McAleer to counter the rising tide of intolerance and violent extremism. The impact program was created to engage vulnerable youth and select communities and — through the use of experiential learning exercises and the exploration of history — enhance resilience to indoctrination and radicalization.

"In this time of rising anti-Semitism, this film serves as both a memory and a warning of what hate can lead to if left unchecked," said McAleer.

Baimei’s Natural Skincare Tools, Face Roller Gua Sha Sets: Ideal Holiday Gifts for Health Enthusiasts

Baimei skincare tools, blend tradition with modern needs, a thoughtful gift rich in symbolism and beautiful packaging

As the holiday season approaches, the beauty industry is buzzing with activity. Consumers are seeking thoughtful and health-conscious gifts. Baimei, a brand of skincare tools on Amazon, captured the attention of skincare enthusiasts and industry observers alike with its exquisite Facial Roller Set.

Baimei masterfully combines ancient beauty traditions with modern skincare needs. Their diverse products like the Jade Roller Set, Gua Sha Set, and Ice Roller Set have gained attention on social media. Moreover, recent scientific research also points to the skincare benefits associated with these tools.

In a study titled "Gua-sha, Jade Roller, and Facial Massage: Are there benefits within dermatology?" published in WILEY by Austin Hamp DO from Midwestern University and Jaclyn B. Anderson MD from Stanford University, it's highlighted that "Gua-sha, Jade Rollers, and facial massages are alternative treatments that temporarily improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage resulting in clearer skin." They further emphasized that "Common benefits included reduced inflammation, reduced puffiness, temporarily improved blood circulation, improved lymphatic drainage, and muscle tension relief."

But Baimei's offerings are more than skincare tools; they represent the spirit of a gift. The meticulously designed packaging, combined with the symbolic meaning of the materials - where Rose Quartz represents love, Amethyst symbolizes peace, Xiuyan jade epitomizes friendship, and Jiacui Jade stands for harmony - make them a truly thoughtful gift.

Customers deeply resonate with this sentiment. "With beautifully designed packaging and labels that can be easily removed, the Jade Roller is an ideal gift," Nolagal, an Amazon shopper, shares. "Using the smooth, silent pink roller feels like treating myself to a little luxury."

With good skincare benefits, aesthetic appeal, and symbolic meaning of the materials, Baimei offers a gift solution that is both healthful and beautiful, making it ideal for holiday shoppers.

About Baimei:

Baimei is about empowering people to feel beautiful. Baimei knows what it's like to feel fed up with one's own routines, not seeing results and not feeling any better off. Baimei's journey began with a single piece of jade, deeply rooted in Benevolence, Morality, and Truth. Taking a modern approach to self-care while preserving traditional techniques, Baimei helps people discover the right tools to bring comfort and tranquility into their lives.
