QuickBlox Launches a Free, Open-Source Offering to Make Video Teleconsultation Software Accessible to All

Powered by QuickBlox's SDKs and APIs, Q-Consultation Lite allows developers to integrate a virtual meeting room plugin with existing company platforms and websites—like electronic health record systems (EHRs)—in minutes.

QuickBlox, a cloud-based communication platform provider, today announces the launch of Q-Consultation Lite—an open-source, high-performance video teleconsultation software.

As well as high-quality, secure video calling and instant chat messaging, Q-Consultation Lite provides countless industry-specific use cases with the option to 'hold' participants in virtual, real-time queues or waiting rooms before private video appointments. Healthcare professionals, financial advisors, HR recruiters, and other users can leverage this technology for virtual private consultations, coaching, product demos, tutorials, training sessions, and at-home monitoring.

The software is easily integrable with existing company platforms and is a web-and mobile-responsive application compatible with iOS, Android, and the Web. Developers can also modify the software's code to enhance features such as language, icons, and data capture fields while adapting the user interface to fit the identities and branding of specific companies. And if companies choose to use the free app with the paid QuickBlox HIPAA cloud plan, they would also be HIPAA-compliant with a Business Associate Agreement (BAA).

"Q-Consultation Lite was originally built to meet the extraordinary demand from QuickBlox's customers for digital and remote communication solutions during COVID-19. After trialing the software with several healthcare organizations, we saw the firsthand benefits, such as reducing the cost of no-show appointments and pressure on clinical resources," said CEO of QuickBlox, Nate MacLeitch.

He added: "Therefore, while there are many communication solutions on the market, we decided to launch a free, open-source version of our video consultation software to make it accessible to as many people as possible."

Remote consultation is increasingly used alongside or instead of traditional in-person visits across banking, retail, customer support, and HR industries. Meanwhile, healthcare organizations have discovered the benefits of secure video calling and chat to support psychotherapy, post-surgery care, chronic illness monitoring, wound management, pain management, addiction support, and more.

Some of Q-Consultation Lite's recent users include a neonatal clinic consulting with parents of at-risk infants, a healthcare organization with an at-home wound management app, and an HR agency looking to use Q-Consultation Lite to manage their recruitment process.

The source code is available via the QuickBlox Github repository, and a fully managed version with additional features is available under a SaaS license. See here for more information.

Octily Expands to Asia Pacific Region, Delivering Unique Cornerstone OnDemand Customization

Octily Expands to Asia Pacific Region, Delivering Unique Cornerstone OnDemand Customization
Where Octily's clients are based

From the U.S., all over Europe, to Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and Australia.

Octily, the creative studio for Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD), announces its expansion to the APJ region with a new Senior Project Manager located in Singapore, more multilingual team members, ongoing collaboration with local implementation partners, and a strong connection to CSOD in South Korea. This development follows successful Cornerstone customization work for well-known companies headquartered between Hong Kong and Japan, which offered a glimpse of a huge opportunity in the region.

"The Asia Pacific expansion is the next logical step for us," said Robert Bucher, Founder and CEO of Octily. "Working with Cornerstone account managers, solution consultants, partners, and Fortune 500 clients in APJ, we've found the same needs as their European/U.S. counterparts. Companies want to personalize their employees' HR experiences, drive adoption, and deliver outstanding user journeys - but have limited access to resources for customization or are simply not aware of the possibilities. Octily is filling this gap by bringing more than seven years of expertise to the area."

Octily's growing team now includes Susan Smit, a dedicated Senior Project Manager located in Singapore with a deep background as a Learning Technologist for one of the world's largest food companies; Simen-Ling La, lead Senior Project Manager with Vietnamese roots and previous CSOD project management experience at one of the best-known fast-food chains; and Keisuke Tanaka, web developer with native Japanese-language skills. In addition, Octily is working with TalearnX, a leading HR consulting firm in Asia that strives to solve business challenges by empowering the people operations department.

"Looking at our 100% remote setup, I'm very proud to see what a colorful, capable, and international team we have become. We are very optimistic about working with the CSOD team and partners in the APJ region to help organizations get the most out of their strategic investments in talent and learning experiences," Rob concluded.

Partnership with Cornerstone OnDemand

"The word 'customization' is not familiar with SaaS products like Cornerstone OnDemand. However, our customers' desire for creativity, to help learners reach their last step of conquering Learning and Development, cannot be neglected," said DJ Park, Cornerstone OnDemand Senior Solution Consultant in Seoul, South Korea. "With Octily, enterprise customers in the Far East, especially in Korea, were not only able to witness their creative ideas come to life, but were also able to make the Cornerstone experience a much more robust one. The integrity, work ethic, and thorough consultation from team Octily are critical factors of our customer-centric partner teamwork that cannot be found elsewhere. Plus, their knowledge of the solution is just a cherry on top," DJ concluded.

Collaboration with Implementation Partner TalearnX

Octily has a strong track record of collaboration with other organizations and loves to team up with partners. In the APJ region, Octily joins forces with TalearnX to work with some of Asia's greatest companies. Teng Mun Chow, Director at TalearnX, shared his experience working with the Octily team. "Octily exhibits professionalism and technical competency that is unrivaled. We have had the honor of working with Octily on challenging customizations, and Octily has surpassed our expectations. The experience is awesome and refreshing. Octily is definitely the right company to partner with," he concluded.

Setting out with the goal of automating all daily operations of a hospitality business, from marketing activities to pricing strategies, HotelRunner introduces Autopilot. The new platform leverages the reservations volume processed in HotelRunner which is more than 3 million in the past year alone.

Accommodation businesses can effortlessly implement sophisticated sales and pricing strategies by transferring all their daily operations and industry expertise to the Autopilot platform as a set of rules and automations.

As the driving force behind the industry with its superior technology, HotelRunner stays ahead of the curve in meeting the future needs of all the stakeholders in the travel and accommodation industries. With the Autopilot, we firmly build upon this vision, cracking the doors of a new era where software serves people, rather than the other way around," says Ali Beklen, Founder and Managing Partner of HotelRunner.

"With our innovative Autopilot technology, we challenge conventional wisdom in hotel management and offer a fresh perspective to the industry. By leaving manual processes behind, we offer our partners effortless efficiency and strive to increase their profitability. Lilia Donaldson #11

Lilia Donaldson continues her winning streak as the leader of kills, blocks, and hitting percentage.

Rising volleyball star and Boulder, Colorado native, Lilia Donaldson, finishes high school season at the top and continues to excel in the club season with Roughriders Volleyball Club. The 6'2", 17-year-old Middle Hitter, graduating from Fairview High School in 2023, leads the teams in blocks, kills, and hitting percentage and also named to the Colorado All Conference team. She planned to put that experience to work for her at a California university with a verbal agreement to an offer that was reversed in the Winter when the head coach resigned.

Donaldson's most recent stats:

  • .47 hitting (2023 club season to date)
  • 100+ kills (2022/2023 high school and club seasons)
  • 65 blocks (2022/2023 high school and club seasons)

As the high school and club team captain the last two seasons, Donaldson was also named Defensive Player of the Year two years in a row for her high school team. Driven by her goal to be an all around contributor, she has grown in her offensive skills.

"Lilia is one of those players that is so coachable and her work ethic drives her to never stop learning," says Rough Riders Volleyball Club Coach and Program Director, Ryan Glavor, former player at University of Hawaii and former coaching staff at University of Colorado.

Donaldson also excels in the classroom with a 3.9 GPA out of 4.0, including AP level courses in Chemistry, Physics, and Psychology. She was named Academic All State First Team this year This will prepare her for her future academic plans of studying Chemistry to lead her to a career in forensics.

Her extra curricular interests round out her leadership in and out of the classroom. She has been a lead volunteer for community fire relief efforts helping 1,000 Colorado families who lost their homes to the Marshall Fire this year. She has been an independent physics tutor for younger high school students and had a Summer Internship in Biomimetic Dentistry blending her love of science with real applications in dentistry.

While Lilia's passion for excelling on and off the court have resulted in college volleyball offers at multiple universities, she is searching for a team and school that fit her goals of contribution on both sides.

If you represent a collegiate volleyball team and would like to discuss opportunities with Lilia, you can email jeff@focusedbrands.com
