Rolling Blackouts | Accelerating SA’s renewable energy and storage capacity: Liz McDaid



As South Africa battled continued rolling blackouts. Many in civil society are calling for a solution now. Civil Society has given Gwede Mantashe 10 days to accelerate South Africa’s renewable energy and storage capacity. The Green Connection says it supports the call by the Electricity Governance Initiative of South Africa for the Minister of Energy Gwede Mantashe to implement renewable energy as soon as possible. The organisation says in an open letter the minister has been given 10 days to heed the call to immediately issue determinations for the procurement of 13600 megawatts of renewable energy.
