Gratz College is launching the first Master of Arts degree program in Antisemitism Studies in the United States in Fall 2024. This ground-breaking program will help fill the vacuum of knowledge about antisemitism across Jewish, non-Jewish, and governmental organizations responsible for generating policy to combat prejudice at a time of unprecedented Jew hatred.
It will:
• Provide an academic home for those seeking to develop both a deep theoretical and practical understanding of antisemitism;
• Help generate new and impactful research on the factors that contribute to growing antisemitism and test interventions that can successfully combat it; and
• Arm educators and practitioners with the most effective antisemitism pedagogy and programming.
Through degree concentrations in teaching, advocacy and research, graduates of this program will be uniquely qualified for prominent careers in education, think tanks, government relations, public policy, and community organizations (Jewish and non-Jewish).
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is eager to see this program take shape:
“We’re seeing a dangerous rise in antisemitism, hatred, and bigotry across our country – and it’s more important than ever that Pennsylvanians be equipped with a thorough knowledge of our shared history and the skills to discern fact from fiction. Gratz College is already renowned for its Holocaust and Genocide Studies programs, and I am encouraged the College is expanding upon that work with a new Master’s degree in Antisemitism Studies. I wish the faculty, staff, and especially the inaugural class of Antisemitism Studies students, great success in their work.”
The program is directed by Dr. Ayal Feinberg, antisemitism studies expert and Director of the Center for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights at Gratz College. The program boasts a distinguished interdisciplinary faculty from academia and leading public advocacy organizations. Despite its infancy, the degree has been endorsed by nearly one hundred scholars and public policy experts from around the world. Professor of Political Science at Kalamazoo College R. Amy Elman asserts, “With an emphasis on operationalizing knowledge, informed teaching and ethical advocacy, Gratz’s innovative graduate program fulfills a deep need in countering antisemitism.”
Gratz’s Antisemitism Studies program is also establishing ground-breaking partnerships with the world’s most prominent Jewish organizations and programs to combat antisemitism in the classroom, on campus, and in professional workspaces. In the first such partnership, Gratz and The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History have joined forces to launch the National Education Fellowship on Antisemitism. The aim of this fellowship is to generate and assess paradigm-shifting middle and high school curriculum to reduce Jew-hatred and prejudice more broadly.
On March 4, 2024, the master’s degree program will kick-off with a series of public lectures, including by scholars serving as affiliate faculty for the program. On April 2, 2024, Dr. Avinoam Patt, inaugural director of NYU’s Center for Study of Antisemitism and the Maurice Greenberg Professor of Holocaust Studies, will deliver a keynote lecture, titled, "Awake My People": Jewish Responses to Antisemitism in the Modern Period.” Additional talks will take place before the program officially begins in August.
Prospective students eager to start may apply now and take courses as early as March 2024 with electives in Antisemitism Studies already developed as a preview to the program.
Gratz College is grateful to the Isidore and Penny Myers Foundation for generously supporting the launch of the Antisemitism Studies program. Jay Myers, Board Chair, shared: “The Isidore and Penny Myers Foundation, a family foundation guided by Jewish American values, sees great worth in educating future generations about the roots of Antisemitism, and by doing so, working to combat it. This degree program will create scholars who can devote their talent to meet this challenge. Our Foundation is proud to support this work and by so doing, meet our obligation to help repair the world.”

Ideate Labs, a leader in online UI/UX design courses and mentorships, is proud to offer women, minorities, and POC the education and insight they need to open up doors in the in-demand field of digital design. To ensure everyone gets the right level of support, Ideate Labs is offering a four-month-long MBA-inspired UX design course that helps students unleash their potential in the most impactful way possible.
Ideate Lab’s exclusive four-month course is personalized to the needs of each student, with features that include a one-on-one mentorship with an established UX design pro and intimate classes that can be done part-time and at a student’s own pace.
Unlike many similar courses online, Ideate Lab’s UX design course isn’t intended to be a one-size-fits-all learning experience. Instead, the four-month masterclass is geared toward individuals who are disenfranchised in the field or are struggling to get their foot in the door, in particular women and those who don’t have the budget or time to devote to other intensive UX design courses.
The Ideate Labs “MBA” course is 2-3x less expensive than comparable courses and does not require a full-time commitment from students. Enrollees get personalized, hour-long design therapy sessions every week with an assigned mentor, as well as interactive lectures, peer-led discussion groups, and weekly design critiques. Also included is lifelong access to the Ideate Labs community, which includes group career coaching and alumni support.
Rather than pack a ton of information into a short period of time, the four-month UX design course lets students take their time mastering digital design and building their portfolio and resume. Students are encouraged to do about five to 10 hours of active study time per week, which allows time for part- or full-time jobs and family responsibilities. Supplemental features like custom three-month career blueprints ensure that everyone has a clear path that they can follow to a six-figure job upon graduation.
So what’s the end goal? Aside from a high-paying job in UI or UX design (Ideate Labs graduates increase their salaries by 1.8x on average), Ideate Labs is dedicated to helping all students achieve great things in their careers and offers a curriculum that prepares individuals for senior and management-level UX jobs. Among Ideate Labs graduates are current leaders in UX research and UX design across Reddit, PNC, Capital One, BYN Mellon, CVS, Truist, Keller Williams, GE Aviation, and more. With the right team and project management, there's no limit to how far students can take their Ideate Labs education.
Ideate Labs, women-run and women-founded, caters to all individuals in the UX space. Learn more today, and reserve your spot by Feb. 8, 2024, to participate in the upcoming Ideate Labs UX Design “MBA” course. SKIDOS, the award-winning platform of popular learning games for children, has announced the launch of its latest gem - Rekindle Minds, a pathbreaking interactive module that helps children navigate the social-emotional challenges of modern living. Based on guidelines by CASEL, this addition makes SKIDOS universe a complete play-learning solution for early childhood.
Unfortunately, conventional schooling methods pay little attention to the development of these vital skills among young children. As a result, educators and parents across the world now report alarming levels of emotional distress among children, with problems like low grades in school, minimal social interaction etc. leading to temper tantrums and high anxiety. Underdeveloped social-emotional skills can further snowball into bad academic performance, lack of healthy friendships, or lower career prospects later in life.
SKIDOS Rekindle Minds takes kids on a self-learning journey. For curious minds aged 4 years and older, it is a guided fun-filled adventure towards understanding their emotions. The module aims to improve the emotional wellbeing of kids and raise them as confident and happy lifelong learners.
Designed as an exciting game, Rekindle Minds smartly introduces bite-sized lessons on key life skills at each level. This makes it uniquely child-centered and effective in its mission to improve their social and emotional skills.
Rekindle Minds adventures centers on 5 enchanting play-worlds, each named after core competencies under CASEL guidelines- self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. With smart interactive videos, mini games, animations, each fun world keeps children engaged and eager to keep growing. Bonus features like Mood-checker and Progress Report further help students recognize their emotions and win rewards that can be used within the app.
Mr. Thomas Santo, an ex-principal with 20+ years of experience in early childhood education, elaborated on the need for social-emotional learning, “With good social emotional skills, children are more resilient and excel in school and later in their careers.” Addressing parents, he further stated, “Investing in your child's Social Emotional Learning is an investment in their future.”
Working mom Yuliya said, “It is very important for my child to be equipped with both fundamental academic, and social emotional skills. These lessons will help my child achieve confidence, happiness, and contentment while exploring their way through personal and professional life. The interactive videos in SKIDOS Rekindle Minds are game-changers! Maria, my younger kid, absolutely loves the different worlds and especially the character Moyo.”
To try Rekindle Minds, download and start playing with SKIDOS's latest game. The app is also available directly on the Apple or Google Play store.
